International Women’s Day Event
In order to create a sustainable society, MHD has also launched the DE&I Employee Network to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the company; with the aim of creating a workplace where employees can work freely and openly for a healthier organization. MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo has been continuously working on sustainability and CSR initiatives (disaster relief, social gastronomy, art for the disabled, etc.). In light of the current situation in Japan, which ranks 121st out of 153 countries in the Gender Gap Index*, we have been working relentlessly on Women Empowerment and Women Leadership activities since 2020, with diversity in society as our primary focus.

As a first step to encourage awareness and reformation within the company, the DE&I Employee Network held the first event, “International Women's Day Lecture & Workshop" was held on March 8-10, 2021
The keynote speaker and facilitator was Ms. Masako Ikehara, entrepreneur and CEO of MANABICIA Corporation, which operates the “Mentor For” program.
Women Empowerment supporting organization such as Lean In – Tokyo; whom was represented by Ms. Chiaki Ishihara (March 8, in English) and Ms. Yuki Kojo (March 10, in Japanese), were invited to participate in the panel discussion, which MHD is collaborating with as a CSR.
Through lectures, panel discussions, and workshops, the participants were able to understand the various "Unconscious Biases" that everyone has. Additionally, the biases that are hindering the success of their own lives and careers as well as those of others, furthermore the change in their mindset to see the difference between "I understand" and "I can do it". It was a crucial, yet valuable step for all employees to share the awareness that overcoming the unconscious bias will lead to success in their own lives and the lives of others. The inclusion of the difficulties in a men's life as a topic on International Women's Day was a bold but necessary step that helped everyone take the first step toward understanding and accepting each other's differences.
MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo K.K. will continue to focus on activities that support women's leadership and careers, gender equality and diversity inclusion for a sustainable future.

■Comment from Dom Pérignon Cellar Master Vincent Chaperon.
“Dom Pérignon and refined gastronomy have a mutually inspiring and elevating relationship. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Chef Natsuko Shoji for the past two years, and I’ve been continually impressed by her deep love for Dom Pérignon, her unique personality, artistic sense, creativity, and above all, her humanity. She also demonstrates a thoughtful approach to passing on her legacy to the next generation through meaningful dialogue with others. I am truly looking forward to continuing our journey together. ”Dom Pérignon and refined gastronomy have a relationship of mutual inspiration and enhancement. I have been working with Chef Natsuko Shoji for two years now, and she has a love for Dom Pérignon, a unique personality, artistry, creativity, and yet is very human. I am also impressed by her thoughtfulness regarding inheritance to the next generation and her attitude of communicating with various people. I am very much looking forward to working with her in the future."

“Dom Pérignon is a truly special champagne to me. As it is often called ‘the art of time,’ it is not swayed by fleeting trends, but is crafted with a long-term perspective, maintaining its singular taste to this day. Remarkably, about 1% of the grapes used still come from the vineyards cultivated by Dom Pierre Pérignon himself since 1668, preserving the origin at its core. I see it as a true piece of art that carries his DNA. It is an incredible honor to collaborate with Dom Pérignon.”
