CSR Women Empowerment Event
MHD Moet Hennessy Diageo K.K. held a Women Empowerment Event online on Wednesday September 16, 2020, as part of its CSR activities.
【Background】
Since 2017, MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo K.K. has continuously supported social contribution initiatives such as social gastronomy, art for the disabled, and disaster relief, and from 2020, with the aim of further empowering diversity, we launched our activities from the perspective of Women Leadership and Women Empowerment. Japan lags behind other countries in the Gender Gap Index, ranking 121st* out of 153 countries, and this is an activity that we should focus on even when compared with other countries in the Moët Hennessy Group.

【Outline of the event】
Ms. Miku Hirano, winner of the New Generation Award at Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award 2019, was invited to speak on the theme of "Women's Social Advancement: Changes in Family and Work due to Advances in Digitalization and AI (Artificial Intelligence)".
Ms. Hirano, a female entrepreneur, engineer, and mother of two, spoke about the future of work and women's careers, and answered questions from the audience in an interactive talk event. She also spoke frankly about the differences in leadership style between men and women, the differences in communication methods between Japan and other countries, and the challenges and failures of being a female entrepreneur. Her message to the male employees at the end of his talk was also very true.
Originally scheduled to be held in March to coincide with International Women's Day, the event was postponed to the above schedule (September) and was now held online.
MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo K.K. will continue to focus on activities that support women's leadership and careers, gender equality and diversity inclusion for a sustainable future.

■Comment from Dom Pérignon Cellar Master Vincent Chaperon.
“Dom Pérignon and refined gastronomy have a mutually inspiring and elevating relationship. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Chef Natsuko Shoji for the past two years, and I’ve been continually impressed by her deep love for Dom Pérignon, her unique personality, artistic sense, creativity, and above all, her humanity. She also demonstrates a thoughtful approach to passing on her legacy to the next generation through meaningful dialogue with others. I am truly looking forward to continuing our journey together. ”Dom Pérignon and refined gastronomy have a relationship of mutual inspiration and enhancement. I have been working with Chef Natsuko Shoji for two years now, and she has a love for Dom Pérignon, a unique personality, artistry, creativity, and yet is very human. I am also impressed by her thoughtfulness regarding inheritance to the next generation and her attitude of communicating with various people. I am very much looking forward to working with her in the future."
■ Comment from été Chef Natsuko Shoji.
“Dom Pérignon is a truly special champagne to me. As it is often called ‘the art of time,’ it is not swayed by fleeting trends, but is crafted with a long-term perspective, maintaining its singular taste to this day. Remarkably, about 1% of the grapes used still come from the vineyards cultivated by Dom Pierre Pérignon himself since 1668, preserving the origin at its core. I see it as a true piece of art that carries his DNA. It is an incredible honor to collaborate with Dom Pérignon.”
