Let's celebrate the 140th Anniversary of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label!
See the evolution of the history of yellow label here!
This year, we celebrate the 140th anniversary of the registration of our trademark yellow label, a colour that has become emblematic of the house of Veuve Clicquot.
Madame Clicquot was in fact hesitant in putting labels on her bottles in the mid-19th century as she believed they distracted from the quality of the wine.
Eventually, she changed her mind, beginning with the minimalistic white label on the “doux” Veuve Clicquot: a sweet and soft champagne.
The yellow label was later created in February 1877 for the “sec” version of Veuve Clicquot champagne and it was the beginning of the contemporary Yellow Label tradition that still lives on today, 140 years later!
