CSR Women Empowerment Event 3
MHD Moet Hennessy Diageo K.K. held a Women Empowerment Event online on Friday, February 26, 2021, as part of its CSR activities.
【Background】
Since 2017, MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo K.K. has continuously supported social contribution initiatives such as social gastronomy, art for the disabled, and disaster relief, and from 2020, with the aim of further empowering diversity, we launched our activities from the perspective of Women Leadership and Women Empowerment. Japan lags behind other countries in the Gender Gap Index, ranking 121st* out of 153 countries, and this is an activity that we should focus on even when compared with other countries in the Moët Hennessy Group.

【Outline of the event】
For this third CSR women Empowerment event, we invited Yuko Hasegawa, Veuve Clicquot Business woman Award winner in 2018, to talk about the relationship between business and art/culture, and the future of diversity and inclusion and women's empowerment as it evolves through the Corona disaster.
After working at Art Tower Mito, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Setagaya Art Museum, Ms. Hasegawa participated in the launch of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, and has served as Counselor at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts since 2016. And she took office as the first female Director of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in April this year.
At the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, where Ms. Hasegawa acts as the directorship, she has been working on various innovations since its inception, such as gathering public spaces and community functions, aiming to make the museum friendly to women and children.
While many women are active in the art world, including female curators, and 70% of visitors to art museums are women, the academic world of art and management positions have been dominated by men. However, in recent years, the art world has seen the emergence of a number of female directors.
She hopes that the role of museums and art in society and the movement of art and life will accelerate.
MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo K.K. will continue to focus on activities that support women's leadership and careers, gender equality and diversity inclusion for a sustainable future.

■Comment from Dom Pérignon Cellar Master Vincent Chaperon.
“Dom Pérignon and refined gastronomy have a mutually inspiring and elevating relationship. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Chef Natsuko Shoji for the past two years, and I’ve been continually impressed by her deep love for Dom Pérignon, her unique personality, artistic sense, creativity, and above all, her humanity. She also demonstrates a thoughtful approach to passing on her legacy to the next generation through meaningful dialogue with others. I am truly looking forward to continuing our journey together. ”Dom Pérignon and refined gastronomy have a relationship of mutual inspiration and enhancement. I have been working with Chef Natsuko Shoji for two years now, and she has a love for Dom Pérignon, a unique personality, artistry, creativity, and yet is very human. I am also impressed by her thoughtfulness regarding inheritance to the next generation and her attitude of communicating with various people. I am very much looking forward to working with her in the future."

“Dom Pérignon is a truly special champagne to me. As it is often called ‘the art of time,’ it is not swayed by fleeting trends, but is crafted with a long-term perspective, maintaining its singular taste to this day. Remarkably, about 1% of the grapes used still come from the vineyards cultivated by Dom Pierre Pérignon himself since 1668, preserving the origin at its core. I see it as a true piece of art that carries his DNA. It is an incredible honor to collaborate with Dom Pérignon.”
